Search Questions
What information can I search on?
A search parameters are built from components. The following are examples:
Components
- Brand
- Interface
- Capacity
- Cooling
- Compatibility
- Retailer
- Price "group"
- Discount "group"
Think of multi-component search as AND logic — sandisk amazon returns only results that match both sandisk and amazon. There is no OR, no phrase matching, and no ranking by relevance.
I want to see everything from Sabrent.
This is a brand search. The parameter can be entered as "Sabrent", "SABRENT", or "sabrent".
I only want Sabrent products sold directly by Sabrent.
This is a retailer search. Other retailers include "Amazon", "B&H", "Best Buy", and "Newegg".
Is the WD Black SN850X available on Amazon?
This is an example of a multi component search.
I have a $100 budget. How do I filter by price?
This is an example of a pricing group search. It is important to note if your budget was $200, the correct search parameter is $<200 and the results would only contain products priced from $100 to $200. The reason for this is to keep the data manageable.
I only want deals with at least 20% off.
The search engine interprets this request as everything discounted from 20% to 30%. You might be tempted to try the hack of including multiple percent groups but that would require "OR" logic which is not supported.
I want heatsink versions only.
Why does "15%" work and "17%" fail?
15% may work if there is a product listed at a 15% discount. 17% may fail if there are no products listed with this discount. Tip, use the percentage group. If the parameter is 10%, products discounted at 15% and 17% would be listed.
Will "SAT" find "SATECHI"?
Yes, partial word parameters are permitted although this is not best practice. Remember, one of the purposes of search is to mitigate the 12 product display limitation.
I typed a full sentence description and got nothing.
If there was a product with each of these words, it would work. Parameters entered as "1tb nvme $<200" works.
Does "Best Buy" need to be typed as two words?
Yes, that's how the data is formated.
Can I combine brand, retailer, discount, and price in one search?
If you get the "No Data" message after combining several keywords, remove the last keyword you added and try again. One incompatible term eliminates all results.
